Dr. Stan Castor

Dr. Stanley Castor, Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, practices cosmetic Plastic Surgery at his office in Tampa, Florida (New Tampa Area and Riverview locations).  Dr. Castor is a native Floridian and is married with three children. He has an impressive list of academic and professional achievements.

Dr. Stan Castor grew up in Zephyrhills, Florida and graduated from Zephyrhills High school at the top of his class in 1982.  Dr. Castor spent some time working as an orderly and patient care assistant after high school and became interested in Medicine.  He worked his way through college playing church music jobs.  Dr. Castor  attended Florida Southern College and graduated cum laude with a B.S. degree in Biology.  Dr. Castor then studied medicine at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed  a 5 year internship and residency in General Surgery at Emory University Hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Castor continued his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for 2 years at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. In addition, he completed a prestigious cosmetic surgery fellowship with world-renowned plastic surgeons, Drs. Baker and Stuzin and Baker in Miami, FL.  This cosmetic surgery fellowship is only offered to 2 plastic surgeons per year.

Dr. Castor (of Tampa, Fl) is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This organization is the only plastic surgery board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Tampa Bay Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a repeat recipient of the Patients Choice Award in recognition of the difference he has made in the lives of his patients.  He has also been named in the 2010 Guide to America’s Top Surgeons by the Consumers Research Council.  Dr. Castor has 12 years of plastic surgery experience operating on patients from all walks of life. He is sought after as a judge at numerous beauty pageants on the state of Florida level and routinely performs procedures on patients who compete on the national level in beauty pageants, fitness, figure and body-building competitions, along with several local Central Florida models, actors and actresses.

Dr. Castor began his practice at the Watson Clinic in Lakeland, Florida.  This is a large multi-speciality clinic with over 200 doctors on staff.  Dr. Castor has served as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Lakeland Regional Medical Center and the head of Plastic Surgery at the Watson Clinic.  In 2007,  he started his own practice of plastic surgery in order to spend more time with his family and patients.  Dr. Castor is on the active medical staff of Tampa General Hospital, Brandon Regional Hospital, Brandon Ambulatory Surgery Center and Central Florida Surgery Center.  He has operating and admitting privileges in plastic and cosmetic surgery at all facilities.

The name Artisan Aesthetics touches upon Dr. Castor’s feeling of being an artisan crafting the body using his hands.  Dr. Castor has a solid background of training and education, combined with his caring attitude and genuine interest in his patients, makes him an excellent and respected plastic surgeon. Dr. Castor brings a wealth of training and new, state of the art techniques to Artisan Aesthetics; Dr. Castor’s personal belief as a surgeon is to be a perfectionist that continues to strive for the best results for his patients, while keeping their safety, comfort and well-being in mind at all times. All patients are unique with individual problem areas that need to be addressed.  He tries to spend 45-60 minutes with new patient consultations and tailors surgery to what the patient wants and needs. In his spare time, Dr. Castor likes to spend time with his family by the pool, at the beach, riding dirt bikes and attending his children’s various sport games.  He also is an accomplished musician and plays the keyboard in a worship praise band at the Vine Community of First Presbyterian Church, Lakeland.
