A native Floridian, Dr. Castor’s journey into medicine began with a genuine desire to serve. Before becoming a surgeon, he worked as an orderly and patient care assistant, a hands-on introduction to healthcare that shaped his famously compassionate bedside manner.
His academic path took him from Florida Southern College (where he graduated cum laude) to the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He refined his surgical skills through a rigorous five-year General Surgery residency at Emory University in Atlanta, followed by two years of specialized training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
To further hone his artistry, Dr. Castor completed a prestigious cosmetic surgery fellowship in Miami with world-renowned experts Drs. Baker and Stuzin. This fellowship is awarded to only two plastic surgeons in the country each year, providing Dr. Castor with a level of technical mastery that he brings to every patient he serves at his Tampa practice today.
