If you have noticed your skin losing its bounce or noticed hollow areas developing in your cheeks and temples, you may be looking for a solution that lasts longer than traditional dermal fillers. Sculptra is a unique injectable that acts as a bio-activator, addressing the underlying cause of volume loss by stimulating the production of new collagen. The transformation is gradual, seamless, and can last for up to two years, providing long-lasting confidence.
When you choose our team for Sculptra, you are benefiting from a surgeon-led practice that prioritizes natural-looking outcomes and unhurried care. By performing these treatments in our private, boutique setting, we ensure your journey toward a naturally refreshed look is guided by clinical expertise and a deep commitment to your safety and satisfaction.

Unlike HA fillers that "fill" a space, Sculptra triggers your body’s own PLLA-driven collagen synthesis.

Results emerge subtly over several months, avoiding a sudden change in appearance.

One of the longest-lasting injectables available, with results typically enduring for over 2 years.

Patients can return to their daily routine immediately following their brief in-office session.
Sculptra is a unique injectable treatment known as a "biostimulator," which is quite different from the traditional gel fillers you might be familiar with. While standard fillers physically fill a wrinkle, Sculptra uses a biocompatible material called poly-L-lactic acid to help your body rebuild its own natural collagen. Over the course of several weeks and months, this biostimulatory effect encourages your skin to grow thicker and firmer from the inside out. This makes it an excellent choice for patients who want to address hollowness in the cheeks or temples and restore youthful volume that looks entirely natural.
Wrinkles can appear for so many reasons: smiling, laughing, squinting, natural aging, and even sleeping position. You may have looked into options for getting rid of wrinkles, but you want something that will last longer and without the “overnight” effect of other fillers. Sculptra is exactly that.

Your expert injector performs the Sculptra® Aesthetic procedure in a series of injections, with up to 3 sessions at about 4-6 week intervals. Before your injections, we provide a local anesthetic at the injection sites, depending on your preference, which makes these injections basically painless. During your session, Sculptra® Aesthetic will be injected into the deep dermis of your skin at the desired areas. There will be a temporary disappearance of the wrinkles immediately until the ingredients of the injection are absorbed into the deep dermis, giving you a temporary “preview” of the long-term results that are to come.
Once absorbed into the dermis, the poly-L-lactic acid in Sculptra® will begin to stimulate collagen production to rebuild a strong underlying structure. You will gradually see results over the next several months as your body continues to replenish collagen. In addition to smoothing lines and deep creases, Sculptra creates fuller facial contours, resulting in smoother, more radiant skin.

Sculptra is specifically designed to address global signs of facial aging rather than isolated lines. These include:

Restores the hollowed appearance of the cheeks and temples.

Softens "smile lines" from the nose to the mouth by strengthening the surrounding skin structure.

Firms the area around the mouth and chin to reduce sagging.

Provides a subtle "liquid lift" by volumizing the lateral face to pull skin upward.

Improves the overall thickness and resilience of thinning, crepey facial skin.
Sculptra® gives you natural-looking results because it’s your body that is doing the filling of hollow areas, lines, and creases. It does so by producing new collagen. This is different from simply injecting volume beneath a crease, as is done with a traditional dermal filler. This also delivers longer-lasting results. Because your body is creating new collagen, this process continues for months as it slowly absorbs the Sculptra. That’s why Sculptra® can basically double the duration of its results compared to typical dermal fillers.

The hallmark of Sculptra recovery is the "Rule of 5." To ensure the PLLA particles are evenly distributed and to maximize collagen production, Dr. Castor’s team will recommend massaging the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.
Aside from this simple massage routine, aftercare is minimal. You may experience slight swelling or tenderness for 24–48 hours, but this typically resolves quickly. Because there is no major downtime, you can resume exercise and social activities almost immediately.
The beauty of Sculptra lies in its gradual onset. While you may see a temporary preview of your results immediately after injection due to the sterile water used in the formula, this will subside within a few days. The real change begins beneath the surface as the PLLA micro-particles stimulate a burst of collagen production.
Within 4 to 6 weeks, you will begin to notice a firmer, more radiant complexion. As you complete your treatment series, your facial contours will gradually become fuller and more defined. Because this volume is made of your own natural collagen, the results look entirely authentic and can last up to 25 months, providing a long-term foundation for a more youthful you.

The most common side effects of Sculptra are similar to those of any dermal filler. For instance:
All these issues pass quickly. In short, if you’re wondering about poly-L-lactic acid, this substance is the centerpiece of Sculptra®. PLLA is a biocompatible, biodegradable substance that the body accepts. It has been used for over 20 years in surgical applications, including dissolvable sutures.
Injecting Sculptra® can cause some bruising at the injection sites. This isn’t serious bruising, but if you want to mitigate it, stop taking aspirin and ibuprofen a couple of days before your session. That’s all you need to do.
Sculptra is unlike other fillers; it is injected deeper into the dermis. The injections are given in a series of three sessions, spaced over three to four months. Sculptra triggers collagen-building mechanisms in the dermis, and each subsequent session builds on the previous one.
Sculptra® doesn’t add initial volume like typical dermal fillers. As noted above, Sculptra® has some initial plumping due to the gel used to deliver poly-L-lactic acid, but this is a short-term effect that resolves as the gel spreads under the skin. The PLLA stimulates the production of new collagen, and that’s where Sculptra® actually does its work. This takes about four to six weeks to fully take effect.
Sculptra® is the longest-lasting dermal filler, providing results that last up to two years.

Sculptra® recovery is the same as that of other dermal fillers. You may experience slight redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection sites, but these side effects usually resolve within a few hours. Patients can return to work or their other normal activities immediately after these injections.
